Learning Opportunities: Learn more about collecting through NPC's Research Library or receive one-on-one help through the Mentor Program, subject to mentor availability. The Mentor Program will assist beginners to semi-advanced collectors, guiding them into future directions and other opportunities. Mentors, when available, will help you with your questions about collecting skills, the material you collect and ways in which you can find resources to help you in your collecting pursuits.

Insurance: With our referral, you can protect your collection with the most comprehensive philatelic coverage available or you can enquire yourself via the direct link provided.

Publications: Take advantage of our member discounts on Brusden White catalogues and other publications relevant to Australian philately. Our book list will offer titles covering a wide range of topics for all levels of collectors. Initially this service will be only on request.

SCIENTIFIC SERVICES

NPC works in co-operation with Scientific Document Services Pty Ltd, that has the facility to further extend the investigation if necessary. This includes hi tech Fast Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman Spectroscopy, Microspectroscopy and more.

APPRAISALS

Our appraisal service is only available to deceased estate executors and collectors who require this service for the purpose of insurance valuations and more.

  • "We do not expertise sets but mainly single stamps, but in sets only where complete sets are also known to be forged, eg. K/S os overprints etc."
  • Up to four items can be submitted on the application forms for larger number of items, please click on the link for further information on the procedure and more.
  • Each item must be the property of the person submitting the item or by an authorized agent acting on behalf of the owner. The insurance to and from NPC will be the responsibility of the owner.
  • NPC reserves the right to decline to examine or give an opinion on any item and no refunds will be given.
  • Used and unused stamps without gum must be thoroughly cleaned of all remnants.
  • For the purpose of classification the BRUSDEN-WHITE catalogue numbers will be used and where not available, STANLEY GIBBONS will be used as a replacement number.
  • NPC will not use terms eg. superb or well-centred etc. in their reports but will identify any faults, blemishes or repairs not evident in the accompanying picture.
  • Please note we do not give opinions on the value of submitted items.
  • All reasonable care will be taken of items submitted for examination and accepted with full knowledge of the owner that neither NPC nor members of the committee are liable for any loss or damage resulting from any cause whatsoever.
  • NPC will not give deadlines for completion of certificates but a turnaround of 1~ 4 weeks from the date of receipt may be expected and possibly more if an item requires more comprehensive investigation. The expertisation service is available to non-members, but at a higher cost. Please note the first certificate for new members is free.
  • NPC reserves the right to make changes to the above rules as required without any prior notice.
  • NPC reserves the right to terminate the membership of any member, or refuse membership where behavior not in the best interests of the promotion of Australian philately has been evident.
  • Submitting an item constitutes the acceptance of all of the above terms and conditions by the owner or his appointed/authorised agent.​
