David has been collecting Australian Commonwealth from a very early age and became a serious collector in the early 60's. At that time he was employed by P&O Orient lines and held position as 3rd Officer on board. With the position came the responsibility of the mail on board which at that time was still being sent by sea.

In 1980's living in UK he became a member of British Society of Australian Philately (BSAP) where he found new interests and this led him to become a passionate student of the 1d Kangaroo which were plentiful and relatively easy to obtain and much under researched.

In 1990's David made contact with Bill Bell in Canada who was well known 1d Roo research/specialist and the two explored/researched and exchanged information on this popular printing. With David's computer skills, this eventually led to the publication of the 1d Red Kangaroo and Map Series which detailed all that was known by the authors.

Early 2000's Greg Pope (a professional philatelist and exhibitor) contacted David to request a joint effort to update the previous publication that Bill Bell has written.

With Greg's professional computer skills and after two years of work the volume was completed and released in 2004 and the rest is history.

The volume was successfully exhibited in Chicagopex in 2004 and a Vermeil Medal was awarded to the authors.

In 2008 David exhibited 1d Kangaroo collection at BSAP society at Ringwood UK and was awarded a fellowship of BSAP for his contribution.

He continues to research and write article which are published in UK and these articles will be available in the NPC research library.

David will step in as a consultant, researcher and mentor and we are looking forward working with him.

As Chairman of the expert committee, as well as a researcher and mentor, John is very excited by the formation of NPC, which will give collectors access to new dimensions in Australian philately.

John has been collecting stamps since the age of 8. At the age of 14, he changed his direction to focus on Commonwealth philately, and it has been with him ever since.

His great passion and specialty has been the Kangaroos, KGV and KGVI issues. John has been studying the above for the last 50 years. His intricate knowledge of these issues has led to the continued research in this exciting field materialized into many new discoveries, which are continuously published in UK and Australia.

As a principal researcher and consultant to Brusden White catalogues, his discoveries were unique and at times and have changed the boundaries in Commonwealth Philately.

John has been working and continues on the Kangaroos and KGV catalogues, which combined, took through a period of app. 8 years. During that time he has made a detailed and thorough review of all denominations. Hundreds of new varieties have been added to Brusden White Roo catalogues in 2013 and 2017, and KGV in 2014 and 2018 editions. He was one of the three panel members who were responsible for the challenging task of reviewing all shades within the Kangaroo and KGV catalogues.

John's study and strength has been the constant varieties, OS perforations and overprints, coil perforations and gums, but in particular thin paper varieties. His thin paper research for the last 30 years has led to more than two dozen new listings. His greatest find was the 2/- Kangaroo 2nd wmk thin paper that was listed for the first time in 1994. This led to many more important finds which is now part of BW listings.

John has been a member of PSC (Canberra) for the last 47 years. He is current member, Committee member and ex-Treasurer of ACCC of NSW, also a current member of the RPSV (Vic) and BSAP (London) societies.

Encouraged by his mother, Richard like most collectors began his early philatelic adventure aged 8. Like most kids the world was his mission and he learned a lot about the world we live in. Sent to the boarding school a new phase of philately opened up when he joined the school stamp club which was run by none other but by the famous Reverend JCW Brown (JCWB) who at that time was also the the editor of Australian Commonwealth Specialist' Catalogue (ACSC). JCWB was the KGV specialist, his forte was his pioneering research into KGV varieties, especially the cracked electros over all the plates and values. it was JCWB who instilled the love of varieties in Richard. Years later when JCWB collection was sold through RSPV, Richard acquired some desirable pieces which are part of his collection today.

Richard's collecting spans through all periods from Kangaroos to current QE2 decimals in varieties, missing colors. imperfs and more.

His assistance and help to the ACSC publishing catalogues over decades has been invaluable, contributing detailed information on new research, plating and more. Richard has written hundreds of research articles on previously unrecorded flaws, missing colours, perforation errors etc. mainly published in BSAP (UK) and ACCCNSW (SYDNEY).

One of his highlights was a co author and convener with other collectors on the 2 volumes of KGV 1½d DIE1 PLATE 1~29. This work took 10 years to complete.

Richard is a long standing member of the following societies RPS (London), BSAP (UK), RPSV (Melb), ACCCNSW (Syd) and Bendigo Stamp Club.

We welcome Richard on board and his knowledge and philatelic experience will be a huge learning curve to the passionate collectors.

Brian’s stamp collecting passion began at the very early age of 10. He still recalls in the 1950’s, his train ride from Newport to Melbourne to purchase from Myers his first 1/4d C of A Wmk KGV which came from the pocket money that he had saved.

Over his lifetime of collecting, Brian’s interests grew and diversified through the whole spectrum of Australian philately.

Brian has lived in the Snowy Mountains region of NSW for the last 30 years. This environment has given him the opportunity and inspiration to specialize in, study and research the Kangaroos, KGV, KGVI, QEII and Postage Due eras. His particular strengths are constant varieties across all eras, official perfins, all aspects of paper varieties, the difficult OS overprints and coil perforations, especially his study on uniformly large holes and more. Brian is highly regarded for his expertise and is a former consultant to the Brusden-White catalogues.

Brian holds two degrees in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in industrial noise pollution.

Brian is a long standing member of the following philatelic societies:   BSAP (London), RPSV (Melb), ACCCNSW (Syd), CPS (Canberra), PSNZA perfin society, and is a life member of Milton-Ulladulla Stamp Club. He is also a member of Trader Societies, past member of APTA (Aust) and PTS (London), a member of RPS (London) and is a past APTA representative on the ACT Philatelic Council.

Brian’s dedication to serving the community extends from his Rotary membership over decades. He is a Past President, Treasurer and Secretary of Cooma Rotary Club and is a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. He sees the creation of NPC as an avenue to fill a much needed void in Australian Philately by providing voluntary advice, mentoring and expertisation in the areas in which he is acknowledged.

David commenced collecting over 50 years ago. By late teens became very interested in varieties across the very complex and complete range of Australian Commonwealth issues but especially the Kangaroos and KGV.

Later on in life his collecting interests took a slight deviation where he added the study of the Victorian postmarks. This research and study has been ongoing until this day. His collection is the most comprehensive ever formed on this subject. The passionate students on the subject of Victorian postmarks which is one of David's current ongoing projects may view his web site which illustrates all the date stamps of Victoria with about 30% of the images attached.

Whilst collecting and researching his hobby, his other philatelic work experiences were for a number of years as a co-owner and managing director of the Premier Philatelic Auctions, which later became Prestige Auctions and later was responsible forming the Phoenix Auction house which he currently holds the position as describer, managing director and chairman of the board.

With enormous amount of material that passes through his hands has ensured that his interest in varieties continues.

David co-authored 2 books on the datestamps of Victoria and has also published a number of specialist articles on Kangaroo and KGV.

On his personal website David maintains several reference areas which are available as a free resource, other more detailed areas are made available on an annual fee basis. These are continuously being expanded.

David maintains a significant Philatelic Library and is a member of numerous world wide societies, mentioning a few: RPSL(London), RPSV(Vic), ACCC(Sydney), BSAP(Uk), APS(Usa), MPHC(Aus)

David is well known as a consultant, advisor and a mentor and will continue in this capacity with NPC.
